Executive Pastor
Pastor Tim & Jennifer Brown
Tim was born and raised in the Los Angeles, California, area and was saved through the bus ministry of a local church there. Jennifer was raised in a Navy family and traveled extensively during her childhood years and spent eight years living in Japan. She was saved during high school through the ministry of Navy chaplains.
Tim and Jennifer met at Azusa Pacific University where they both graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biblical Literature in 1990. During this time, Tim served as youth pastor at the Open Bible church in Rosemead, California. They married a week after graduation and moved to Riddle, Oregon, where they served as youth pastors and as interim pastors. During this time, Tim graduated from Northwest Christian College with a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies and their son, Caleb, was born.
In 1993, Tim joined the Army to pay off college loans and was assigned to be an Arabic language translator. The family was stationed in Savannah, Georgia, while Tim traveled back and forth to the Middle East. Their daughter, Rebecca, was born during this time. When Tim left the Army, they became the youth pastors at Southside Assembly of God in Savannah, Georgia.
In 2000 the family moved to Spirit Lake, Iowa, to pastor Lakeview Open Bible Church. After four years of ministry there, they entered the mission field. They served on staff at a short term missions base in Tijuana, Mexico where they facilitated the ministry of over 800 young people a year as they built houses for the poor, served in feeding kitchens and orphanages, and did numerous evangelistic outreaches through out the city. After two years in Mexico, the Browns returned to Southside in March 2006 to be the pastors of Student Ministries.

Pastor David Humphus
David was raised in Milledgeville, Georgia, graduating from Georgia Military College Preparatory School in 1994. He attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, for two years before enlisting in the United States Army, where he served as a member of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, at Fort Benning, Georgia. David was saved in 1999 after a parachuting injury that disqualified him from continuing his service as a Ranger.
After being medically discharged from the Army in 2000, David returned to Mercer University. While at Mercer, David served the campus through his participation and leadership in the Baptist Student Union, and also served his local church faithfully. He answered a call in 2003 to serve as a Youth Ministry Intern in Savannah, and remained to serve as a Minister of Youth for Live Oak Community Church until 2005.
David has attended Southside since 2005. During his time at Southside, David has participated in and led the Young Adult Ministry, taught the High School Sunday School Class, and actively supported the youth ministry under Pastor Tim. In February of 2008, David accepted the call to serve as the Student Ministries Pastor here at Southside. He currently is a student at Armstrong Atlantic State University and is pursuing his credentialing within the Assemblies of God.
David has a passion for the youth of our community. His desire is to help raise up teenagers who have a faith in God and a love for people that produces action, making a difference in our world both eternally and in the here and now. He is excited about the opportunity to be a part of what God is doing at Southside and the Church as a whole!
Please note: We would like to thank God for such a wonderful staff. Please remember them and their family always in your prayers.
