TAP Tibet Avenune Project Kickoff

It began as a vision from Rev. Roberson of Kingdom Life Ministries and he joined with Rev. Moon of Southside Assembly of God to see it come to life.  Tibet Avenue had recently been the place of the murder of a young man, Marcus Allen that lived in this neighborhood.  Both pastors want Tibet Avenue to be a place where families can attend church, have friendly neighborhood functions, and students can safely walk to and attend school.
With the help of members of each congregation, city officials, and businesses that line Tibet Avenue the cleanup began.  People walked the street and cleaned up the roadway, the business areas, the school, and the neighborhoods that line Tibet Avenue.  This project was supported by the City of Savannah through the Great Savannah Cleanup.      There were many in attendance that day: Aldermen – District 5: Clifton Jones, District 6: Tony Thomas; Mayor Pro Tem Edna Jackson; Largo Tibet Administration-Dr. Andrea DeShazo, Principal and Dr. Melinda Bryan, Asst. Principal and Staff; Colonial Village Neighborhood Watch team leader-Helen Beddow; Chatham Furniture; Savannah Youth University; BP Station; Petway Cleaners; and SunTrust Bank manager Kirk Farkas.
